The pedipalps (or palps) are like a pair of arms in addition to the spider's eight legs. The palps can be used to manipulate the prey and hold it to the spider's mouth.

Two chelicerae, descending from the spider's head, have fangs at the end. These are used to inject digestive enzymes into the insect. The digestive enzymes liquify the insect's organs and tissues, enabling the spider to suck them out.

This spider has four eyes in a square at the front centre of its head and also a pair of eyes at each side of the head.
